Apprenticeship training
Apprenticeship training is an excellent way to connect professional studies to theoretical education. Such education is suitable for young people as well as adults. Apprenticeship training has long traditions and it is continuously being developed further.
Apprenticeship training can be either vocational basic education or further education. A personal study plan is formulated for each apprenticeship student in which attention is paid to knowledge and skills of the field already acquired based on the grounds of the diploma. The study plan is made together with the student, employer and with the Oppisopimustoimisto (Apprenticeship Agreement Office) of Yrityspalvelu PKOL.
Training is takes place mainly at the workplace and it is based on a fixed term contract of employment (an apprenticeship agreement) connected to the periodic studying that is being carried out, between the student and the employer. In addition to the practical work assignments performed at the workplace, studies are supplemented by theoretical studies as part of the apprenticeship training. Education is designed in cooperation with the student and in accordance with the needs of the job.
